ABOUT RESHMA
Hi!
I’m a knitter, crocheter, polymer clay artist, indie fiber / yarn dyer, and owner of Hello Lavender. My journey with yarn started when my mom taught me how to crochet when I was ten years old. I started knitting in 2015 and launched Hello Lavender in 2016.
I started off by going to craft fairs and selling knitwear online, but then transitioned into making polymer clay stitch markers and earrings in 2020, which took off in a way I never could have imagined. In 2023 I took up spinning wool, which lead to our first collections of dyed fiber a year later. I originally started dyeing yarn in 2018, but had to put it to the side when my youngest was born. I was finally able to get back to dyeing yarn in 2025, and ended the year with my India collection. I still knit for myself, as I love crafting my own wardrobe and creating pieces that fit me perfectly. On top of that, I began sewing and making my own pants!
Art has been the biggest part of my life since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I entered every art show I could as a kid. I designed and built sets for theater in high school. I studied and obtained a degree in the fine arts. My creativity has been my driving force for my entire life, and my work with yarn and polymer clay are my most recent expressions of that creativity.
ABOUT MIKE
Oh hello there!
While I'm not the creative powerhouse that Reshma is, I've been lending a hand behind the scenes with Hello Lavender since the early days. Oddly enough, it feels like I've been unknowingly preparing for this role my entire life. I worked for ten years as a jeweler, which gave me an eye for quality and the skills to handle small designs. After that I spent about nine years in the IT industry, which helped give me the background to run the tech side of the business. And then somewhere along the way I learned how to use a 3D printer.
After the fated Stitch Marker Boom of 2020, I was able to join Hello Lavender full time in 2021. I'm here to handle all of the logistics and technical aspects of the business so Reshma can focus on creating amazing designs and growing Hello Lavender.
